Meet the 22year old girl that gives scholarships, builds and donates classrooms and bore-hole water

Mary 'Remarkable' Akpan also known as the Iron Lady is a name on the lips of many grateful people across interior rural African communities, the needy, the United Nations and globally.

She has a heart of gold which makes many wonder where she gets her strength from.

Thru her foundation, the Mary Remarkable Foundation, she has wiped out tears from the eyes of countless young children who could not afford to pay their fees thereby having to roam the streets hawking or engaging in an unproductive gesture.

At age 22, Mary has accomplished what most African leaders cannot even with public funds. A writer, public speaker, politician and most importantly a feminist, Mary gives hope to hopeless and a voice to the voiceless.

With over 20 pupils on full scholarship, 210 people cared for thru medical outreach, young ladies educated on the need to stay away from teenage pregnancy, Mary Remarkable Foundation established in 2015 has also built and completed 2 classroom blocks for internally displaced pupils in a school in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State also has built bore-holes and handed them over to community leaders who showed deep sense of appreciation and are managing the facilities extremely well till date.

Mary Akpan is indeed remarkable, we can only pray that the prayers, kind words and tears of joy from people, families and communities she has touched will speak for her always and propel her to the greatest of heights the world can only imagine.

This truly is what the Nigerian women need in 2020, a lifestyle worth emulating; building a solid and strong foundation for our children and helping in addressing as many societal needs as possible via life touching gestures and more. Nigeria in 2020 needs proactive women irrespective of age to take up the task of nation building and forward the course of a greater Nigeria with or without political office.

Thank you Mary Remarkable Akpan, our African Margret Thatcher.
